Things happened today.

oh good.  I love it when things happen and then I get to go home and tell about them.  I went into town with Pris the Prize this lunchtime, and she had to go to work, and I went round handing out CVs.  And I popped into this little salon that sells Aveda products, and remembered that I used to work in Aveda about a hundred years ago, so I gave them a CV, then went to meet my pal Joe, and the salon called me and asked me to come back in for an interview.  So I went, and I'm going to work there on Thursday to see how it goes.  But probably it will go really well, because it's just as an assistant, which means sweeping hair, shampooing people, selling hair products, and doing things at the reception.  Good, because I fucking needed this job.
So that was pretty good news. Then I wandered around with Joe for a long time, and we popped in some shops.  We were going to try a wedding dress on in a wedding dress shop, and tell them that our big day was coming up, but decided against it.  Also, I took a male mannequin's wig off and wore it round Debenham's.  The shop assistants looked like they wanted to kill me, but I thought it looked terrific! I'd have taken pictures, but my camera ran out of batteries, so, sorry about that.  Then, after doing some other things, Pris finished work, and we went to get some bleach so i can do her and Lauren's hair this weekend.  Then we collected Laurenpie from college and came home. Tracey went to London yesterday to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert the musical.  But she got back today and brought us all sorts of treats to eat from Harrod's. Like really FIT grilled asparagus, different cheeses and Serrano ham.  and olives stuffed with garlink.
Then I went upstairs to do some writing, but one can't rush inspiration, so I decided to learn some German adjectives instead.  But then I found out that I had a terribly crashing headache.  Normally, I'd have a drink to sort that out, but I decided not to do that today because once I get a taste of alcohol on my lips, it's like when sharks taste blood in the water.  I go into a drinking frenzy, and then behave ridiculously.  No self-control.  So I am having a GIANT bottle of water instead, which I think is wise of me.
I am the wise one, after all.
OH, I also forgot to say that I joined the library today!!  Pretty amazing, actually, because I LOVE a library, and they even have courses to learn Icelandic, which is my new hobby.  But I should finish learning German before starting on another one.
The most horrifying thing has just this second happened.  Pris pointed near me on the floor. And it was a HUGE spider, just scuttling and spidering across the floor.
The same floor that had my bare feet upon it.  It could have changed its course and crawled on my foot without me knowing it was there until it was too late. It could have crawled UP MY TROUSER LEG.  So I completely had a panic until Pris crushed it and put a cigarette in my mouth and gave me a swig of red wine.  Oops.  Can I abstain from drinking more?  You'll have to wait for next time to find out.  Place your bets now, everyone.  You may do so in the form of comments.  Also, comment on any other topic I've told you about, if you're that way inclined.
Until then, godspeed you!
I'm still quite terrified of that tarantula incident.

Good old friends.

I'm so glad I have someone like Amanda Lee in my life.  We used to be such close friends and shared most of the major experiences of our late teens and early twenties.  We would both kind of go crazy at the same times, and straighten out at the same times. Car crashes, relationship angsts, preggers scares and mental breakdowns.  And it's nice to see that even though we haven't seen each other for years and years and years and years, she's still able to advise me on things that trouble me a great deal.  The proof is in the pudding, they say, and the proof is here that real bonds don't ever disappear whenever you're separated by annoying circumstances.

An Edit.

I've decided actually, to have another blog for the Rape Tapes, and keep this blog clean. Sort of a day look. My new start. If you still want to read those damned Rape Tapes, all you have to do is go:http://thesearetherapetapes.blogspot.com

So, in the brief space of time since my earlier post, I cleaned the kitchen and the living room, and made a salad of spinach, thinly sliced turkey breast, orange peppers, cherry tomatoes, onion, broccoli, and a sprinkling of chopped garlic, then ever so slightly drizzled with a low fat chilli and mango dressing. And a giant bottle of water to drink with it.
What is everyone else's favourite type of salads? Discuss.

Pretty much I'm kind of living in some kind of dream world, but hopefully not for much longer. And I think everything is going to turn out perfectly enough.
I'm about to bake some cookies for the girls because Pris is on blob and so not feeling very well, and Lauren is keeping her company. They're watching some kind of porno movie? jack and mimi make a porno or something like that. I declined their offer of joining them.
Also, I'm going to make a new mixed CD that hopefully will even be better than my earlier one that went down a treat.
I keep being really smiley and it's probably starting to wear thin on everyone else I know. Nevermind!

My Very First One.

I've been doing this sort of thing for livejournal for about a hundred years, but actually, who even reads livejournals anymore?  I know I hardly ever update it and when I do it's just about how I haven't updated in so long, and by that point so many things have happened that I completely forget what to write about.  So I'm going to have a new beginning.

So. What sorts of things can I discuss.  I've been doing lots of research this week for the book that I've started writing.  I'd had the basic idea in my head for a really long time, and after a sudden crash of inspiration I decided to stop beating around the bush and just fucking write it.  It's getting quite interesting as it's sort of writing itself.

I've been spending lots of time with my sister Pris, and she does make me laugh so much.  The other day we were doing errands for her girlfriend's mom, Tracey.  We had a shopping list and had to go to about 4 different supermarkets for various things.  And at Sainsbury's, she was putting the shopping in the backseat and whacked her head on the door frame so hard that her legs quaked. And we couldn't stop laughing about it for about an hour.  My guts actually ached afterward.  I called it her Funky Chicken.
She also has a secondary personality called Roberta, who emerges every so often and binge eats.  Roberta is one of my top ten people of all time.

My friend Joe and I found a beautiful Westwood coat in one of the shops in town yesterday, and I really wanted it.  It was a pale blue trench, and beautiful.

Anyway, this was my inaugural post, so I don't have much to write about just yet. But keep your eyes peeled (or is it pealed in this context?) for more things that I will want to share with you. I imagine mostly it will be about things I have eaten, things I have abstained from eating.  Things that made me laugh.  Probably not thing that made me cry, unless those things will make you laugh (ie when i was reduced to a sobbing mess when i watched the lion from harrods on tv).
